Regional Coordination
Get Involved
MCOG works in collaboration with its members. As a volunteer, you have an opportunity to participate in trainings, study committees that impact your community, or our General Assembly or Board of Directors. If your community has municipal management or planning professionals, please encourage their involvement in quarterly meetings to discuss regional planning issues, professional development, or to further regional coordination opportunities.

Workshops & Trainings
MCOG regularly holds training sessions for Planning Boards as well as workshops on current planning issues and topics. Visit our calendar to see upcoming opportunities.

Interested in a workshop or training on a specific topic? Contact Max Johnstone to inquire. Usually we will try to coordinate workshops with several communities.
Cooperative Purchasing Program
Through partnership with Greater Portland Council of Governments (GPCOG), MCOG facilitates the procurement of goods and services in bulk quantities through a competitive bidding process to help obtain the best possible pricing for municipalities.

Instead of purchasing products and managing contracts directly, team up with your neighboring communities to reduce costs. Goods and services covered in the cooperative purchasing program include:

-
Bulk copy paper
-
Catch basin cleaning
-
Crack sealing
-
Heating fuels
-
Paving
-
Road salt
-
Road striping & pavement marking
-
Snow plow cutting edges
-
Transportation fuels
